General operation:
After power is applied, the device will send the idstring via morse code as FM modulated tones. Next, a programmable number of beeps ( or tones) are transmitted before repeating the sequence.
Prior to each beep, the data interface is checked for inbound commands.
Command mode will be entered when you press the '!' key.
Command Mode:
The following commands are available to control the radio beacon:
Command |
Description |
Default |
btone |
The audio frequency of the beep in Hz |
600Hz |
bnum |
The number of beeps after the idstring |
50 |
bspace |
The time between beeps, in ms * |
5000 ms |
btime |
The duration of each beep, in ms * |
100 ms |
freq |
The RF carrier frequency in Mhz |
146.520 Mhz |
mtone |
The audio frequency of the morse code in Hz |
600 Hz |
mspeed |
Morse code character speed. See below |

Notes:
* Beep timings are approximate due to the delay when changing radio modes
The 'mspeed' parameter controls the timing of the morse code characters (in milliseconds)
